Covid 19 Information For Military Families
The housing office should be one of your first stops when you arrive at Fort Riley. This office provides relocation services and information and support to soldiers and families as they move to their new post.
For families and higher ranks, you can contact the Corvias Rental and Relocation Center at 1 (785) 717-2258 to check the availability of privatized military housing for your rank and family size.
Each community center has staff offices, a club room, a media room, a fitness center, a game room, locker rooms, meeting rooms and an outdoor pool. Use of the community center facilities and pools is free for families, regardless of where you live.
Fort Riley Military Family Housing in Corvia has five communities with single-family, two-story, townhome and condo-style floor plans that range from two to five bedrooms. Pet-friendly rooms are also available. The neighborhood has a variety of amenities such as community centers, swimming pools, fitness centers, playgrounds and recreational trails.

Post House residents can enjoy the convenience of on-site management and maintenance, curbside trash and recycling, lawn care services, and a full calendar of resident activities and events.

Note. Fort Riley military housing with Corvia is available to active duty personnel with dependents within 50 miles of Fort Riley. To qualify for on-site housing, you must have at least one year of active duty covering your current orders, including PCS moves.

The fort was originally built in 1852 at the junction of two rivers to protect the routes of settlers heading west. It was named after Major General Bennett C. Riley, who led the first military escort along the Santa Fe Trail in 1829. The fort was used over the years as the home of the US Cavalry, including the famous "Buffalo Soldiers" . It was an important training and replacement center during both world wars.

The fort is located at the junction of the Kansas, Smoky Hill, and Republican Rivers adjacent to Junction City and is approximately 71 miles west of Topeka. This area in northern Kansas is known as the Kaw.
There is no postal service, but there are several transportation options from Junction City International Airport. Certified military taxi companies may drop off passengers by mail, but rideshare companies may be required to drop off passengers at the gate. The USO in Terminal 1 has a reduced shuttle service that must be booked in advance. Guards perform 100% ID checks at all gates. All visitors must have a valid military ID or access the Visitor Control Center. Information about permits and admission requirements can be found here.
All Soldiers in processing must register with 1st Replacement Company (except the following units: MEDDAC, DENTAC, CID, and Mobilized Reservists) and sign up through the Personnel Service Office located at 208 Custer Avenue (Main Post Office). Enter the back of the building and go to the basement of the Central Processing Center. The office is open 24/7. Uniforms are available during OCP business hours (0800-1700 Monday to Friday).
Soldiers should contact their unit or sponsor for specific instructions or policies. If you arrive at AIT and need help contacting a sponsor, please call 1 (785) 340-2875 or 1 (785) 239-5739.
Sergeants First Class and above may check in on their own schedule, while Staff Sergeants and below are placed with Platoon 1 Replacement Barracks for processing. Individual soldiers or geographic bachelors are placed in barracks for processing.

The ID Card Division/DEERS Office is your one stop shop for DEERS/RAPIDS and ID card issues. You can make appointments for ID cards and deer by calling ahead or using the website here. For help on how to use the RAPIDS website to schedule appointments, follow the instructions here. Soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division should contact their S-1 unit for ID card services rather than using the RAPIDS scheduling link.
Services are by appointment only, but walk-in clients are accepted between 0730 and 0800. However, appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis.
